Who we are
We are the Scottish Deerhound Club of America (Club), a club made up owners, breeders, and lovers of Scottish Deerhounds. The Deerhound Store allows anyone who is interested in Scottish Deerhounds to purchase our National Specialty merchandise and meals, Club products, and donate to health research. Additionally, Club members may submit Futurity entries.
Throughout this Privacy Policy we will refer to the Scottish Deerhound Club of America as “Club” and this web site as “Store.”
We care about your privacy and do not sell, trade your information with anyone. We do share your personal information with the vendors necessary to operate our web site.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Information we collect
We only collect personal information for one of these reasons:
If you set up an account
Users can choose to set up an account at the store in order to make their shopping experience easier. In order to set up an account, we require your name and email. You may provide us with more information–like your name and address–but we don’t require that information to create your account.
Transactions and Shipping information
When you buy something from us or make a contribution to health research, you will provide personal information such as name, address, shipping address and contact information.
Club forms
When a club form, such as a Futurity entry is submitted, we collect personal information including name, address, and email. This is submitted via email to the appropriate club member.
Contact Us Form
If you use the Contact Us form, we collect your name and email.
Payment information
We do not collect credit card information. Payment is by personal check or through the Paypal® site, which has its own Privacy Policy available here.

Log Information
Like many online sites, we use Jetpack by Autmattic to collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.
Location Information
We may determine the approximate location of your device from your IP address. We collect and use this information to, for example, calculate how many people visit our Site from certain geographic regions.
Usage Information
Through our use of Jetpack and WordPress for operating our Site, we collect information about your usage of the Site. We also collect information about what happens when you use our Site. We use this information to get insights on how people use our Site, so we can make our Site better.
Media
If you allow us to use your images on the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
If you use the Contact Us form, we collect your name and email address. We keep this information as long as it is needed to respond to your contact. We do not share, sell, or use it for marketing purposes. If you request it, we will delete the information unless it is legally necessary for us to keep it.
Club forms
If you fill in a Club form, for example a Futurity entry, the information we collect may include your name, email address, or physical address as well as other personal information. You may request that your information contained in the form and stored on the Site be removed at any time. To do so, please email us at admin@deerhoundstore.com

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

Affiliates, Volunteers, and Independent Contractors

Third Party Vendors
We may share information about you with third party vendors who need to know information about you in order to provide their services to us. This group includes Siteground which hosts our Site, Automattic which provides functionality to our site. These vendors help us provide our Site to you.

We may disclose information about you when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of the Club, third parties, or the public at large. In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company, or in the unlikely event that Club goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would likely be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. We may share information that has been aggregated or reasonably de-identified, so that the information could not reasonably be used to identify you. For instance, we may publish aggregate statistics about the use of our Site.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, their account at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
